On Friday, October 16th, at approximately 6:45 pm, Traffic Service officers attempted to stop a vehicle travelling eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway outside Corner Brook. The vehicle had a broken front windshield.
According to the RNC, the driver failed to stop for officers and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers identified the driver as Todd White and observed the vehicle reaching speeds of 185 km/hr.
Subsequent attempts to locate White have been unsuccessful. Police say they are concerned about his escalating disregard for public safety.
An arrest warrant has been issued for White on the following charges: Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving, Operating While Suspended, No Insurance, Failure to Transfer Ownership, and No Windshield or Improper Windshield Replacement.
White is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 151 pounds, with grey hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information about White’s whereabouts is asked to contact the RNC at 709-637-4100.
Police encourage motorists to report any suspicion of impairment or dangerous driving to call their local law enforcement agency.
